Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Pasante Healthcare Ltd has made a firm commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2048,
demonstrating their dedication to environmental sustainability and responsible business practices. This Carbon Reduction Plan outlines the company's current emissions status, reduction targets, and strategies to achieve their ambitious goal.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2022

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.

The baseline emissions footprint serves as a crucial reference point for measuring future
emission reductions. Pasante Healthcare Ltd established their baseline in the financial year
2022, covering the period from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023. It's important to note that while
this baseline provides valuable insights, some assumptions were made regarding Scope 3
reporting due to limitations in monitored data at the time.
To address this limitation and enhance the accuracy of reported emissions, Pasante
Healthcare Ltd has planned additional reporting structures. These improved systems are
expected to be fully operational by the financial year 2025, allowing for more precise tracking
and analysis of the company's carbon footprint.

Emissions reduction targets

Pasante Healthcare Ltd has set ambitious yet achievable carbon reduction targets to guide their progress towards Net Zero. The company projects a significant decrease in carbon emissions over the next five years, aiming to reach 94.55 tCO2e by 2030. This target represents a substantial 31% reduction from their baseline emissions.

To visualize this commitment, Pasante Healthcare Ltd has provided a graph illustrating their projected emissions reduction trajectory. This visual aid helps stakeholders understand the company's long-term vision and the scale of the challenge they have undertaken. Progress against these targets can be seen in the graph below:

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

Pasante Healthcare Ltd has already implemented several environmental management measures and
projects since establishing their 2022 baseline, namely:

  • Closer management of international travel and use of alternative communication methods (Online meetings rather than face to face)
  • Organisation of inbound deliveries to make best use of space for shipping thus reducing the number of inbound shipments.

These initiatives have yielded positive results, achieving a carbon emission reduction of 25.74 tCO2e. This reduction represents an 18.8% decrease compared to the 2022 baseline, demonstrating the company's early success in their carbon reduction efforts.

It's worth noting that Pasante Healthcare Ltd's commitment to reducing their environmental impact predates their formal Carbon Reduction Plan. In 2019, the company proactively implemented several infrastructure upgrades to improve emissions. These early measures included:

  1. A comprehensive LED upgrade throughout their warehousing facilities, significantly reducing energy consumption for lighting.
  2. Re-roofing of their facility to align with modern insulation standards, improving energy efficiency for heating and cooling.
  3. Replacement of external shutters with insulated roller shutters, further enhancing the building's thermal performance.

While these 2019 initiatives undoubtedly contributed to emissions reductions, the lack of adequate reporting data at the time prevented the creation of an accurate baseline for measuring their specific
impact. This highlights the importance of robust data collection and reporting systems in effective carbon management.

Looking ahead, Pasante Healthcare Ltd has identified key areas for future carbon reduction efforts. A primary focus will be on enhancing their reporting capabilities. By implementing more sophisticated data collection and analysis systems, the company aims to achieve greater accuracy in their emissions reporting. This improved data quality will enable more informed decision-making regarding carbon reduction initiatives, allowing Pasante Healthcare Ltd to target their efforts more effectively. Another significant area of focus for future initiatives lies in addressing Scope 2 and 3 emissions, which currently constitute the majority of the company's carbon footprint. Pasante Healthcare Ltd recognizes that careful selection of carriers and utility companies can play a crucial role in rapidly reducing emissions within these scopes. By partnering with environmentally conscious suppliers and service providers, the company can leverage external expertise and resources to accelerate their progress towards Net Zero.
